What Happens If Not Approved – LEO Help Centre

What happens if not approved

### Overview

Our prescribers review every consultation to ensure that treatment is safe and appropriate. In some cases they may decide that medication is not suitable. This article explains why that might happen and what we do next.

### Why a consultation may not be approved

Your consultation could be declined for a number of clinical or regulatory reasons, including:

- **Medical contraindications:** Certain conditions such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, being under 18, uncontrolled blood pressure, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, or a history of hormone‑sensitive cancers mean minoxidil or finasteride may not be appropriate.
- **Medication interactions:** Some medicines you are taking may interact with the active ingredients or require closer supervision. In those cases we cannot prescribe via telehealth.
- **Unsuitable hair loss stage:** If your photos show advanced hair loss with little remaining follicular activity, medication is unlikely to help. We may recommend other options, such as referral to a hair transplant surgeon.
- **Incomplete or inconsistent information:** If answers in the questionnaire do not align with each other or with the supplied photos, our clinicians may ask for clarification. If we cannot verify key information, we cannot prescribe.

### What happens if you are not approved

- **Notification and explanation:** We will contact you by email explaining that we cannot prescribe at this time and why. You are welcome to reply if you need further clarification.
- **No medication dispatched:** We will not ship any medication if your consultation is not approved.
- **Full refund:** If your payment was taken during checkout, it will be refunded in full.
- **Guidance on next steps:** Where appropriate, we will advise you to speak to your GP or a specialist hair restoration doctor. You can re‑submit a consultation in future if your circumstances change.

### Confidentiality and data

Your medical information remains confidential. We store consultation data securely in accordance with UK GDPR and delete it when no longer required. Only our clinical team has access to your answers and photos.

### Summary

Being declined for treatment does not mean you are without options. It simply means that our prescribers have concluded that minoxidil or finasteride are not suitable for you via our service at this time. We will explain the reasons, refund any payment and guide you towards the most appropriate care.
