How LEO Works – LEO Help Centre

How LEO works

LEO is an online prescription service for male and female pattern hair loss in the UK. Our treatments are based on proven medications and every prescription is reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional. This overview explains the process.

1. Online medical consultation
Every customer starts with a structured online questionnaire covering their pattern of hair loss, desired outcomes, medical history, current medications and relevant health factors. This information is used to determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate.

2. Prescription review
A UK‑licensed prescriber reviews your consultation. If treatment is suitable, you will receive a prescription for an appropriate medication. If treatment is not suitable, you will not receive a prescription. Hair loss treatments are prescription only in the UK, and medical oversight is required.

3. Treatment options
LEO offers both topical and oral medications:

Topical formulations (applied directly to the scalp):
- Minoxidil 6% + Finasteride 0.01% + Azelaic Acid 2%
- Minoxidil 6% + Azelaic Acid 2%

Oral medications (taken by mouth):
- Finasteride 1 mg
- Minoxidil 2.5 mg
- Finasteride 1 mg + Minoxidil 2.5 mg (dual therapy)

Minoxidil may be prescribed to men and women. Finasteride is prescribed to men only.

4. Delivery and application
Once approved, medications are dispensed from a regulated pharmacy and shipped in discreet packaging via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Most orders arrive the next working day after dispatch. Topical medications include both a dropper and a targeted spray for scalp application. For certain subscription lengths, a LEO Scalp Roller is included to deliver solution directly to the scalp with minimal waste.

5. Expected timeframes
It typically takes 3–6 months of consistent use to stabilise hair loss and see visible improvements. Results vary based on the stage of hair loss, age, genetics and adherence. There is no permanent cure; benefits are maintained only while treatment continues.

6. Ongoing management
Treatments are supplied as part of a subscription plan with a minimum supply of three months to encourage continuous use. You may pause or cancel at any time. If you experience any side effects or have questions, please contact our support team or seek medical advice.

Summary
LEO provides regulated access to clinically proven hair‑loss treatments with medical oversight. The service includes online assessment, prescription review, precise application devices and ongoing support. Our goal is to slow or halt further hair loss and, where possible, improve hair density through consistent, evidence‑based treatment.
