LEO is a prescription hair‑loss service operating in the UK. Our treatments are evidence‑based and monitored by qualified healthcare professionals. This article explains how LEO differs from other providers.
Clinical heritage and oversight
LEO is run by a family with more than 40 years of experience in hair and hair restoration. All prescriptions are reviewed by UK‑licensed prescribers. We use the same standards of medical governance as any regulated pharmacy. If treatment isn’t clinically appropriate, it will not be prescribed.
Evidence‑based medications
There are only two medicinal ingredients that have been shown to treat androgenetic alopecia: finasteride and minoxidil. In some formulations, we also include azelaic acid. These medicines are not a cure for baldness. They can slow or stop further loss and may support regrowth where follicles remain viable. Results vary between individuals and depend on ongoing adherence.
Precision delivery
LEO topical solutions are supplied with both a dropper and a targeted spray. We also offer the LEO Scalp Roller — a patented applicator designed to roll the solution directly onto the scalp with zero mess and zero waste. Unlike generic sprays that leave product on the hair, the Scalp Roller deposits medication exactly where it’s needed, ensuring more consistent scalp contact. Dropper and spray applicators are provided with every order; the Scalp Roller is included with many six‑month plans and can be added to shorter plans at checkout
Alcohol‑free base
Natural, alcohol-free base
LEO topical solutions use TrichoSol, a hydrophilic base derived primarily from plant oils. It contains lavender, rosemary and juniper oils, which have been used traditionally to support scalp health. TrichoSol is alcohol‑free and propylene glycol‑free, reducing the potential for dryness and irritation. We include only the active compounds (minoxidil, finasteride and azelaic acid where prescribed) and the TrichoSol base—nothing unnecessary.
Eligibility and treatment options
Minoxidil is available for adult men and women with appropriate clinical indications. Finasteride is only prescribed to men. Treatment begins with an online consultation and medical review. Only customers who meet the clinical criteria will receive a prescription.
Subscription and delivery
Treatment is supplied as a minimum three‑month course because hair loss treatments require consistent use over several months. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time. Orders are dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked 24. In most cases, parcels arrive on the next working day after dispatch.
Our role
LEO provides regulated access to proven medications, clear instructions and ongoing support. We do not offer cosmetic products or untested supplements. We avoid making claims that cannot be supported by clinical evidence. If you have questions about treatment suitability or side effects, please contact us through our help channels.
