Applicator Guide (Dropper vs Spray) – LEO Help Centre

Dropper vs spray

When you receive your LEO topical solution, you will find two applicators: a dropper and a targeted spray. Each serves a slightly different purpose depending on hair length and personal preference. You may have also received a LEO Scalp Roller, which is our recommended applicator.

### Dropper applicator
- Provides a measured dose via a glass pipette and bulb.
- Ideal for applying solution through longer or thicker hair because you can part hair and place drops directly on the scalp.
- Suitable for those who prefer full control over where each drop lands.
- To use: unscrew the cap, attach the dropper, squeeze the bulb to draw up the prescribed amount, part the hair with a comb or fingers, hold the dropper close to the scalp and release drops evenly over the affected area. Avoid touching the scalp with the pipette. Replace the dropper and wash hands.

### Targeted spray applicator
- Produces a fine stream of solution for quick application to larger areas.
- Best for shorter hair or early stages of hair loss when the coverage area is broader.
- Less precise than the dropper but faster to apply.
- To use: unscrew the cap, attach the spray unit and straw, part the hair, extend the spray arm to reach the scalp, hold the nozzle around 75 mm (3 inches) from the scalp, and spray evenly across the thinning area while keeping the bottle upright. Use a finger to spread any drips. Wash hands after application.

### Choosing the right applicator
Both applicators deliver the same medication; they simply provide different delivery methods. You can switch between them at any time or use the one you find most comfortable. Some patients start with the spray then switch to the dropper as hair grows longer.

For even greater precision and zero waste, consider using the **LEO Scalp Roller** (included with many 6‑month plans and available as an add‑on). The roller applies solution directly to the scalp without any on the hair.

### Summary
Use the dropper for controlled, targeted application through longer hair. Use the spray for quick coverage on shorter hair or larger areas. Whichever applicator you choose, apply the prescribed dose once daily to a clean, dry scalp, and follow the instructions provided with your treatment.
